Driving in Armenia is often surrounded by myths of crazy traffic. In reality, outside the center of Yerevan, driving is quite calm, and roads to major sights are in excellent condition.
Speed Limits and Cameras
There are many speed cameras on Armenian roads, including hidden ones on highways. Always use a GPS navigator (like Yandex Maps or Google Maps).
- Urban areas: 60 km/h
- Rural areas: 90 km/h
- Highways (e.g., to Sevan): 110 km/h
Armenia has a 10 km/h tolerance limit. If the sign says 60, you will get fined at 71 km/h.
